a little look into my life with food: a food-word association game

1. Venison- GROSS.
2. Nettle tea- i like tea!
3. Huevos rancheros- this has something to do with eggs, right? i think i read this recipe in the joy of cooking when i was looking for quiche.
4. Steak tartare- no steak for me, but i'd love to serve it...
5. Crocodile- well, someone's got to eat it in order for me to justify crocodile shoes, purses and belts.
6. Black pudding- GROSS.
7. Cheese fondue- i could get into a meal of melted cheese and bread...
8. Carp- i don't eat seafood.
9. Borscht - i dunno about beets...
10. Baba ghanoush-sounds tasty.
11. Calamari- seafood.
12. Pho - ummm, i dunno about that... maybe if i was sure there was no organ meat or blood.
13. Peanut butter and jelly sandwich- nature's most perfect food.
14. Aloo gobi- i should make this! it's a dry curry with potato, cauliflower and SPICES.
15. Hot dog from a street cart- umm, no. no, i don't think i could eat that.
16. Epoisses- i don't really eat anything that's described as "pungent."
17. Black truffle- unless it's magical, i'm not interested.
18. Fruit wine made from something other than grapes- sure, why not?
19. Steamed pork buns- eh.
20. Pistachio ice cream- not if there's any other flavor.
21. Heirloom tomatoes- YUM.
22. Fresh wild berries- YUM.
23. Foie gras- i would probably really like it, but i have a recipe for "faux gras" that i really want to try.
24. Rice and beans- not too spicy!
25. Brawn or head cheese- GROSS!
26. Raw Scotch Bonnet pepper- i don't do so good with spicy.
27. Dulce de leche- YUM!
28. Oysters- seafood.
29. Baklava- YUM!
30. Bagna cauda- seafood.
31. Wasabi peas- too spicy!

33. Salted lassi-probably not... indian food is a little much for me.

37. Clotted cream tea- so... this is tea? with... clotted cream? nah, i don't think so.
38. Vodka jelly- yikes! breafast of champions?

43. Phaal- not so much with the indian food.

46. Fugu- seafood. also, POISON.

51. Prickly pear- i'll try any (non-melon) fruit!
52. Umeboshi- i'm not huge on dried fruit, or particularly sour fruit, but any fruit once, that's the rule.

54. Paneer- i'll take a LITTLE taste.

57. Dirty gin martini- i mean... not so much. but maybe someday.

59. Poutine- cheese curds? really? i take a taste of yours.

63. Kaolin- i don't know what this is...

75. Roadkill- um. that is not food. i mean, lots of things are "not food" to me, but that is NOT FOOD.

81. Tom yum- not my style: spicy and might have eyes.

84. Tasting menu at a three-Michelin-star restaurant- i'm not really sure what this means. i'm assuming it's fancy and i would hate it.
